Often it results in bald spots on the scalp, especially in the first stages. Garden City, NY, 11530\" width=\"251\" height=\"201\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<h2><strong>What are the causes and symptoms of hair loss (alopecia)?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The exact cause of alopecia is unknown.<\/li>\n<li>A variety of genetic, environmental and hormonal (androgenic) causes involved.<\/li>\n<li>Pattern hair loss is partially related to a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>How does acupuncture treat hair loss (alopecia)?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-224 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/acupuncturebyyan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/aa3-300x98.jpg\" alt=\"Dr. Yan Zhang Acupuncture by Yan P.C. By strengthening these parts of the body, hair re-growth is encouraged. I use acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine to do exactly this. I use both internal herbal formulations and topical ones, like scalp rinses and shampoos.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Another technique I use is called Seven-Star Needle.
